Course Content

Each course involves a range of educational modalities.

Pre-course work will be sent to you by email – including attached PDF documents and links to websites and videos.  Much of the information can be found on the Resources pages.

On the day presentations are kept to a minimum, whilst ensuring main concepts are understood.  The rest of each course is split between small group workshops; case based discussions or immersive simulations.  The blend of activities allow participants to practice practical skills; ask questions as well as sharing experiences and  tips and tricks.  All courses have immersive group simulations with facilitated debriefing.  We find that the simulations allow everyone to reflect on the interplay of clinical expertise, practical skills and human factors in clinical crisis management.

Course Costs 2023

Single Course (CICO, Cardiac Arrest, Major Haemorrhage or Anaphylaxis) – $550 (Doctor) $325 (Nurse – 4 nursing places available on each SCME course)

Emergency Response Full Day (2 courses on the same day e.g. CICO and Cardiac Arrest) – $900 (Doctor) $550 (Nurse)

Discounts

Queensland Health Employee – $50 off each single course

Group of 5+ participants – 5% discount on total price

Group of 10+ participants – 10% discount on total price

Payment to be made in full prior to the course. Payment to be made by direct bank transfer.

How to Enrol

Please email us at info@sunshinecoastmedicaleducation.com with the following information:

• Your name
• The course(s) you would like to attend
• The date you would like to attend
• The number of participants you are booking for

We will then reply within 3 business days.  Once minimum attendance numbers have been reached we will email again with further details including: bank details; waiver and ask your coffee order preference.

Your place on the course(s) will be confirmed only when full payment and completed waiver have been received.
